This is a truly intriguing look at Blair Williams. We get to see her in much more of a leadership role in this series than we did in Terminator Salvation. If you liked the character in novels and/or the movie, you’ll like this series quite a bit.
If you played Terminator on X-Box or PS3 then you know have bad the game was. If you see how bad the graphics are then that is what the whole DVD is, just no bad graphic video game episodes. Do not get this. I wish that there was star 0 because that is what I would rate thus.

For those wondering, I can confirm that Hellfighters, War Wagon, and Rooster Cogburn are all presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen. That makes this collection a nice improvement over the previous non-anamorphic standalone versions of those DVDs. The other features (Reap the Wild Wind and The Spoilers) are in full-frame (1.33:1) format, which I enjoy was their recent theatrical format.

This is a collection of films that have been out on DVD…being a fan of the Duke ..I unprejudiced bought it anyway. I can say I am overjoyed already because although Universal doesn’t tout this…the print of ROOSTER COGBURN is a revelation compared to the previous available editions! The previously available DVD of that stunning film had noticable grain, color problems, and annoying dirt etc. The transfer/print of Rooster Cogburn on this collection is striking in its improved contemplate ( a tribute to legendary Cinematographer Harry Stradling Jr who photographed this resplendent movie) . I haven’t compared The War Wagon and others yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if they also were an improvement. I picked this up for under $20…and 5 John Wayne films for $4 each is a no brainer…

UPDATE: I unprejudiced compared the War Wagon with the previously available edition and like Rooster..its a Broad upgrade in describe quality…this station gets better and better…snap it up!

Ice Age: The Great Chill was very suitable and though-provoking. Honest seen The Meltdown and was thoroughly entertained. Hollywood finally place something out that didn’t have a bunch of sex, blood and gore. Extraordinary one liners and originality in this. The QUEEN did an outstanding job, and Ray unprejudiced made it all the better. This would be one for the DVD Library for determined. Kids AND adults both had a huge time. Thank you Hollywood for finally having something that was fun.
We went to seek Ice Age 2 the day it came out, which generally guarantees an alive to and rowdy crowd. Everyone there was laughing and clapping throughout.

Manny (Romano), Diego (Leary), and Syd (Leguizomo) are encourage. They’ve turned the heavily iced space into a camp for kids complete with ice slides and wading pools. But a vulture called Lickety-split Tony (cameo by Jay Leno) warns everyone that the ice is melting and soon their valley will be flooded. So once again, everyone must migrate, fleeing to safer and higher ground. On the intention, they meet 3 fresh friends: two opposums named Atomize and Eddie (Sean Scott Williams and Josh Peck), and their “sister”- a mountainous named Ellie (Queen Latifah) who doesn’t know she’s a vast. Collectively, they continue on their migration. Syd and Diego try to convince Manny that Ellie can befriend him hold mammoths from going veteran, and a possible realtionship begins. But flood waters, terrifying water creatures, and Ellie’s massive identity crisis stumble them a bit along they contrivance. Syd finds respect and reassurance from a secret tribe of sloth’s that revere him as the “Fire God”. But it’s Scrat, everyone’s celebrated neurotic squirrel, that’s the just star of this movie. My kids, and those all around us, laughed their heads off whenever Scrat’s crazy acorn antics were on cover. My [...] traditional asked me today, “Can we go eye Ice Age 2 again? “. He didn’t even say that after seeing “Though-provoking George”! Fun for the whole family.

Everything that was good about the 163-minute theatrical release of Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Last Emperor in 1987 is even better in this new 218-minute director’s cut. By contrast, much that was peculiarly distant and lifeless the first time around isn’t really better or worse in this edition. Conclusion: the net gains are considerable if you invest time to appreciate Bertolucci’s full feeling for the odd story of Pu Yi, China’s final monarch. You remember the saga: taken from his mother at the age of three, Pu Yi is brought into the enclosed walls of the Forbidden City to replace the real emperor. There he becomes a pampered prisoner and hollow symbol of an older monarchy that has since given way to a ruthless, 20th century republic. With his pining loyalists beheaded or kept at bay by armed soldiers outside the City’s walls, Pu Yi is tutored by an English gentleman (Peter O’Toole) and wed to a kindred spirit (Joan Chen). Eventually cast from his gated paradise, Pu Yi (wonderfully portrayed in adulthood by John Lone) becomes, by turns, a playboy, a dupe to the Japanese, and a victim of China’s cultural reforms and re-education programs. This longer cut largely top-loads the film with greater reason to feel compassion for the emperor, with his often wordless sense-adventure in the mysteries that could only be known to one little boy plunged into indecipherable alien decorum, robbed of self-determination and common sense by his infinite privilege. Added scenes (including some in the political rehabilitation camp where Pu Yi is held for a decade) fill out not so much added facts as density of experience. This improved The Last Emperor is richer in soul and a pronounced sense of Bertolucci actually directing this film in the most personal and profound sense. –Tom Keogh

Winner of the Academy Award for best picture of 1989, this gracefully moving drama, adapted from the hit play by Alfred Uhry, chronicles the 25- year friendship between a stubborn, aging Southern widow (Jessica Tandy) and her loyal chauffeur (Morgan Freeman). At first, the self-sufficient Miss Daisy is reluctant to accept the services of a chauffeur, but Hoke is quiet, wise, and tolerant, and as the years pass the unlikely friends develop a deep mutual respect and admiration. Tandy deservedly won the Oscar for her sassy and sensitive performance, and Freeman earned an Oscar nomination for bringing quiet depth and integrity to his memorable role. Ironically, director Bruce Beresford (Tender Mercies) was not nominated, but the film won Oscars for makeup and for Uhry’s screenplay, in addition to a supporting actor nomination for Dan Aykroyd as Daisy’s supportive son. Delicate, funny, and bittersweet, Driving Miss Daisy was a surprise hit when released, and marked the crowning achievement of Tandy’s great career. –Jeff Shannon
