Own these films individually on DVD from Image Entertainment. Nice to have them in boxed sets like this though I must let Metzger fans know that the transfers from First Run are not as good as the Image versions. Where the Image versions are color saturated and sharp, the First Run transfers have murky, faded out color and soft pictures.

Gus & Call: The Early Years. This prequel to Lonesome Dove detailing some of the adventures of the young Rangers, Gus McCrae and Woodrow Call, was written by Larry McMurtry and features all of his trademark specialities: complex heroes, pitiless & mean villains, politically incorrect fierce & merciless Apaches & Comanches, a wild trek lead by a half-mad pirate (F. Murray Abraham), a motley collection of wilderness folks, wise & unruffled Scouts (Keith Carradine & Harry Dean Stanton) and a young whore with more guts and heart than most men.

In short, it is a hell of a tale, well told. The cast is excellent all the way around, and the choices made for the young Woodrow Call (Johnny Lee Miller) and Gus McCrae (David Arquette) fortuitous. In Miller we see the beginnings of the stubborn iron will and dtermination of Woodrow Call, as well as his natural acceptance of responsibility and leadership. David Arquette catches the free spirit, insipient laziness and romantic dreamer in Gus.

The story of an ill-fated trek to wrest Santa Fe and thereby all of New Mexico from Mexico, becomes a hellish mess as one thing after another goes wrong, not the least of which is a determined Apache, Gomez, picking them off one by one. And, there is yet a worst trek after their failure in Santa Fe, and that is the Dead Man’s Walk of the title, lead by a resolute and unswayable Mexican Officer (Edward J. Olmos), with other surprises to come.

If you liked Lonesome Dove, you will like this as well. If you didn’t like Lonesome Dove (more’s the pity on you), better give this a pass. 4-1/2 stars. Worth it.

First off, the title should tell you that the pacing and tone of this story is not swift and uplifting. It is brutal and grinding, so those who may have been expecting another LD experience were apparently disappointed. However, this is a very worthy story in its own right and is a way for us to understand the early years of Augustus McCrae and his true love, Clara Forsythe; and also the taciturn Woodrow F. Call and his relationship and feelings for Maggie.

The storyline itself has already been recounted here, so no need to repeat. As far as the previous comment that the soundtrack was essentially dull and uninteresting, I disagree. I think it was beautiful. The filming was also very well done. I also think the two main stars did a creditable job in handling roles that were, let’s face it, definitively portrayed by Duvall & Jones in LD. Jennifer Garner as Clara was, as always, a pleasure to behold, and certainly she helped me understand McCrae’s falling head-over-heels in love with her. In many ways, I think that on the whole the main supporting cast was better than in LD. Keith Carradine, Patricia Childress, Edward James Olmos, Harry Dean Stanton and F. Murray Abraham were all outstanding.

I knocked this down to 4 stars because it ain’t LD, so comparatively speaking it simply could not garner 5 stars. Also, there are a couple of glaring technical errors. At the end of Disc One, when the group is leaving the burying of some of their companions and about to embark on the Dead Man’s Walk, the camera is on a wide shot and you can clearly see a very large vehicle(!) moving across a roadway on the horizon. This is unforgivable. Later, while wandering in a rainstorm, the huge stage fans used to whip the rain can easily be heard. Both of these flaws are so conspicuously and outrageously bad that I’m surprised they weren’t caught by the editor.

All in all, though, Dead Man’s Walk is a fine DVD and should be in any LD fan’s collection.

My son and I came out of the theater exhausted just by watching this quasi-documentary reenactment of the 1985 ascent up an unclimbed route on the Siula Grande glacier in Peru. The film’s impact is heightened by the excellent cutting between the actor/climbers and Simon Yates and Joe Simpson, who recall their actions, reactions, and feelings nearly 20 years later. Disaster strikes on the descent, where — as one of them notes — “80 percent of accidents happen.” After Simpson breaks his leg in a fall, Yates — against impossible odds — continues to try and get him down. Finally, Simpson falls again, off the edge of the mountain. After hours of hanging on to what feels like dead weight, Yates cuts the rope to prevent himself from being gradually pulled into the void. Simpson’s survival and return to base camp is nothing short of miraculous, suggesting that man is never more tenacious about life than when he is closest to losing it. Though far different in its circumstances, his story rivals that of Shackleton and the Endurance in Antartica three quarters of a century before. An underlying issue, addressed briefly in the film, is whether Yates should have cut the rope. Apparently some other climbers criticized him for doing so, but Simpson always defended his action. I have no idea how well the technical aspects of Touching the Void are done, but to this mostly earthboard amateur, they looked brilliantly and truly shot. Danger and beauty are scarcely separable in Touching the Void. When you are not immersed in the terror of Yates’ and, especially, Simpson’s plight, the frigid beauty of the glacier, the colors within its crevasses are glorious. A story of recklessness and great determination, superbly told, filled with many “how did they ever shoot that?” moments, Touching the Void must be seen.

There aren’t enough “mosts” and “-ests” to describe this movie. It’s the story of two men, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, climbing the west face of the Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. After making the summit, Joe slips on the descent and shatters his leg. Faced with certain death on the mountain, they attempt to descend by having Simon lower his injured friend in 300 foot increments (the length of their available rope). This works for a while until Joe slides over a precipice and is left hanging in mid-air. Unaware of whether his friend is alive or dead, Simon’s only course of action is to eventually cut the rope.

Amazingly enough, Joe survived not only the fall over the ledge and the subsequent fall to the bottom of a deep crevasse. While Simon fought the elements and continued down (a harrowing tale in its own right), Joe managed to crawl out of the crevasse and after a four day ordeal reach their base camp. Somehow it seems trite to call this an adventure, and yet ordeal doesn’t fully describe peril of it all.

Joe and Simon themselves provide the narration and context with an almost unworldly matter of fact manner that only adds to the experience You “know” they survived! The ordeal is painstakingly recreated with actors subbing for Joe and Simon as they offer their own stories and perspectives. Beyond the sheer drama of this film, there is some of the most impressive cinematography that you’ll ever see. At times the camera will pan back from a relatively close shot to a distance of a mile or more away, leaving the climber little more than a tiny blur on the wall. It’s a fantastic film that will truly leave you breathless.

I first saw Frequency the day it was released in theatres, after I saw a preview that got me extremely interested in the movie. I didn’t know quite what to expect, but what I found was well written movie, with excellent acting performances and a very gripping storyline, a truly enjoyable moviegoing experience. The story focuses on a cop named John Sullivan (played brilliantly by James Caviezel in a breakthrough big screen performance) who lives in Queens, NY in early October 1999, which happens to be the date of an appearance of a phenomenon that allows John to communicate with his father Frank (with a very solid and emotional performance from Dennis Quaid), on the same radio, in the same house. The interesing part is that John talks to Frank thirty years earlier, merely days before Frank, a firefighter, dies herocially trying to rescue a person trapped in a blazing fire. Frank and John end up making catastrophic changes in the timeline, which leads to the brutal murder of John’s mother(in an excellent performance from Elizabeth Mitchell) only days later in 1969. The movie is really a combination of several different elements. First of all it focuses on a father-son relationship between Frank and John. The interaction between Caviezel and Quaid is superb, and leads to some of the films most emotionally moving moments. The emotion is skillfully achieved, as Caviezel and Quaid don’t act face-to-face, but across a HAM radio. The interplay between the two time periods really adds to the movie without overshadowing the its story. Frequency also combines elements of suspense, action, mystery, and tense drama. Frequency covers all of the bases, and does so very skillfully. This brings us to the DVD disc itself, which comes from New Line Home Video, who completely loaded the disc with a huge amount of special features, including many interesting DVD-ROM features that can be accessed by any PC with a DVD-ROM drive and PC Friendly installed. If you don’t have PC Friendly on your computer, the DVD will install it for you if you so choose. The disc also has deleted scenes, as well as several feature legnth commentaries(by the director, producer, and actor Noah Emmerich who plays the adult Gordo, John’s best friend). The disc also includes an interesting original documentary, as well as a trailer and animation galleries. If you are are willing to let your mind go a little bit to accept the science of the storyline, it actually becomes a fascinating part of the movie. This movie would definitely be a worthy addition to any DVD collection. Frequency also offers an extremely exciting and rewarding finale that will not disappoint anyone who watches it. The bottom line is this: Frequency is a wonderful movie, with incredibly strong emotional performances from the entire cast, very moving dramatic moments, as well as tense, gripping action sequences, and a rousing finale. Frequency is definitely one to remember. This movie truly has it all!

I consider a good thriller, one that not only keeps me on the edge of my seat after the first viewing, but one that keeps me there with every viewing. “Frequency” is one of those, that no matter how often I watch it, it takes it’s hold on me from the first frame and won’t let go until the last. It’s more then just a thriller though. It’s some fabulous Sci-Fi entertainment with great special effects, it’s the poignant story of a special bond between father and son, and there’s lots of heart pounding action sequences as well. Add to that one fabulous cast including Dennis Quaid, Jim Caviezel and Andre Braugher, a fresh take on time travel, and you are in for 2 hours of some fine entertainment.

A Police Officer John Sullivan(Caviezel), by a miracle of nature, is able to contact his father, Frank(Quaid), on an old ham radio. The miracle?…The Northern Lights make a rare appearance in New York. What’s truly amazing is that his father died thirty years earlier fighting a fire. He is able to change the course of history, by forewarning his father about the tragedy to come. But by changing the course of history, John and Frank may have unleashed an evil chain of events yet to come. They most work together, with the time they have to stop a serial killer.

The DVD is a great buy. The transfer is gorgeuos. A wonderful widescreen presentation that takes in all the action and special effects in brillant colors. It made be viewed with DD5.1 Surround, which brings it all right into your living room, and it also has an option for DD2.0. A ton of features include deleted scenes, a documentary, “The Science and Technology Behind Frequency”, Commentary, you can isolate the score, and much more(see buying info for complete list of extras). There are subtitles in English, and the snap case unfolds to some production notes and a few scenes from the film. You really get more bang for your buck with this great package.

It’s a film that will have your heart racing one moment and the next will evoke a lump in your throat at the touching moments. It’s got something for everyone. It’s rated PG-13, but parents may want to view it before hand, as some of the scenes are quite violent.

Shrek has grossed over 260 million in the theaters (as of Aug. 14, 2001). That’s within .05% of the top grossing animation of all times, Toy Story (@ 262 million). Shrek is a great 3D movie. The 3D computer animation is second, only to Final Fantasy. The story is more involving than what I expected. The voices were well cast and performed. The whole film awsome. I’m sure you’re aware of that or you wouldn’t be reading this now. It has both adult (clean adult) and kids humor. The writers plagerized just about everyone and it was hilarious. Okay, now for the DVD. This DVD is created as 2 parts. One disc is aimed for the kids and the format is “full Screen” (pan & scan) and includes 17 DVD-ROM games. The other disc is geared more for adults and is letterbox formatted. Both discs have 3 minutes of extended ending that was never scene in the theatrical release. There’s ‘Making Of’ and ‘Behind The Scenes’. It encludes 11 hours of extras. There are also running commentaries. This DVD will actually allow you to replace a charector’s voice with you own with “Sherk’s Revoice Studio” effects. There are 15 minutes of newly animated footage specifically for the DVD interactive menues.. . . . . Shall I go on? . . . There is a sticker on EVERY box saying it’s a winner. Each box has eligebility to win a prize, from a Kia car to X-Box game consoles to Baskin Robins Ice cream. So, we have a fantastic movie, the most massive extras features ever on a DVD, and free give-aways. And yould be nuts not to take advantage of this offer.

Sitting in the theater, I watched my 6 1/2 year old nephew eat up the bright colors and classic sight gags, while I watched my 25 year old fiancee almost spill his popcorn laughing at the exact same joke. What I really liked about this movies was that duality-that one set of lines can be almost making me wet my pants while the more innocent version is keeping the little guys and gals glued to the screen. I found it to be reminiscent of the first Toy Story and the underlying message is easy for kids of all shapes and sizes to understand without being so cookie cutter sweet and sappy. Score for the big green guy. I’d take him home.

Hobson (Charles Laughton) is a prosperous shoe and boot merchant in the miniature town of Salford, England. The time is the 1880s. Hobson is a widower, a blusterer, a man accustomed to his comforts, his drink and his ease. He is, thanks to Laughton, larger than life, a man we can laugh at but not a man we’d probably want as a neighbor. He has three daughters. Maggie (Brenda De Banzie) is 30. She is, says her father, “a bit ripe” for marriage at her age, and he plans to preserve it that diagram. Maggie runs the store, keeps the books, sees to dinner and keeps the home above the store elegant. Henry Hobson, or course, doesn’t pay her wages because she is, after all, his daughter. His two younger daughters both have suitors, and that’s objective pretty with him until he realizes he must give them dowries if they are to marry. There’ll be no dowries from Henry Hobson.

And now we gaze Maggie near into her maintain. She is a humdrum woman with an iron will, a determination that recognizes no barriers, and a very shrewd mind. If she is ever to glean away from her father, she will have to accumulate a man to marry her. And now we meet Willie Mossop (John Mills), the shoe worker who makes the shoes in the dingy basement under the store. Willie is honest about illiterate, vexed to a fault, naive, stupid, unbiased and with very dirty hands. He is quite overjoyed to stop in the basement making shoes. In Willie Mossop, however, Maggie sees not unprejudiced speed from her father, but a man who makes valid shoes, and a man she could do into a success with his bear…their have…shop. She knows she can do this, and she’ll catch a method to salvage dowries from their father for her two sisters while she’s at it. It should arrive as no surprise that Maggie accomplishes all she sets out to do; that Willie becomes William Mossop whose shoes sell, who is endearing and just and who has a far better haircut after Maggie takes charge. While Henry Hobson roars about, deep in the drink, elephantine of self-pity and bluster (and as absorbing as only Charles Laughton could gain him), we choose abet and appreciate the seek of Maggie using her head, with energy and determination, to earn the better of her musty rogue of a father. Maggie not only finds Willie, but cherish, too. By the demolish of the movie, we’ve approach to know a satisfied and successful couple. William and Maggie have given Henry Hobson a choice he would be foolish to refuse.

This is a vastly enchanting and satisfying movie, thanks to Lean, Laughton, Mills and, especially De Banzie. Laughton came to loath De Banzie during the filming, and the reason is as insensible as De Banzie’s monotonous but exquisite face. The movie ostensibly is a showcase for Laughton. He plays Hobson bolder than life, uncouth, squinting, staggering drunk, too knowing for his believe honorable…a man fat of faults and foibles we can laugh at more readily than laugh with. He has two major bits playing the drunk or hungover Hobson and he’s very gracious. There are two major sly and finagling scenes with him which are even better. But Brenda De Banzie, a well-behaved actor, steals the demonstrate. Unprejudiced as Maggie carries the day, it is De Banzie who carries the movie. Laughton must have realized this would happen during their first scenes together. De Banzie starts by giving us a no-nonsense woman who knows how to bag things done. Her decision to compose Willie Mossop her man, to marry him, slowly lets us view unbiased a puny vulnerability. She’s not going to choose “no” from Willie, she will create him a success, but we launch to realize without her saying a word that she wants Willie to not derive her unattractive. Their wedding night and the morning after is played for smiles, but they’re tender smiles. We realize that Maggie made a first-rate choice in Willie and that Willie realizes fair how lucky he was. Henry Hobson may continue to bluster, luxuriate in his drink, put a question to his comforts and construct us indulge in Laughton’s bits of over-acting, but it is Maggie and William we feel apt about. Together, they’re going to be running things…and successfully, too.

The movie was released long ago on VHS tape and can composed be tracked down. Criterion’s DVD release, due in a couple of months, will undoubtedly give the movie the attention it deserves. I conception to select it as soon as it’s out and will add here my understanding of the extras. This is one of David Lean’s finest films. Hopefully, the Criterion release also will bring more attention to what a fair actor Brenda De Banzie was.

I cannot even launch to descibe the tenderness, humor, and subtle life lessons in this movie. It cannot support but be intelligent and uplifting in the truest sense. I have this on vhs…it is so mature from watching…I have loaned it to many friends who have said that in the first few minutes they are wondering why I like it so remarkable, and then they are gradually brought to the point where they are enchanted with the sweet lessons of self-determination, factual esteem, and the radiant transformation of Willie as Maggie sees in him what even he cannot peek. A man well treated by a woman does so remarkable for his confidence….And as for maggie…How radiant to glimpse the message that we obtain our bear happiness in life.

There are so many popular moments, but i agree with the earlier review that Maggie(DeBanzie) steals the exhibit. Nearly every scene with her in it contains my popular moments A random bit…but one of my common moments is just at the wedding supper…Apt like is seeing the honorable in our spouse and helping them own it. I also really like the snip of a scene earlier in the film when Willie realizes that he will never be going succor to his frail life and his sheer disbelief and joy.

This is a clear winner with the quality of Miracle on 34th street, a movie that will be watched over and over. Treat yourself and pick on for your mother!

Very informative documentary. Most people have no idea what our 16th president’s body went through until it’s final resting place some 30 years AFTER his assasination. Did you know that the original “Lincoln’s Tomb” had to be rebuilt due to faulty construction, or that the president’s body was buried in the basement of the tomb (not in the vault above) for over a decade for fear of another attempt at stealing it! This film goes into great detail about how the body was preserved, the journey across Amercia and the plot to steal it.Digital reconstruction of the body in the casket and of Lincoln himself. A must for history buffs, Lincoln historians and those just curious. Well worth it!

I loved this gem of history past but what is really facinating is the technology used that made Mr. Lincoln “come to life”. We see him walking down the White house staircase, walk down the street tipping his hat to people as they walk by and, along with his wife Mary, sitting in the box at Ford’s Theatre at the moment of his assassination by a pistol shot to the back of his head at the hand of actor John Wilkes Booth. It is just like seeing actual clips of Lincoln bringing him to life (and death) again. This is a “Must Have” for the collection of any admirer of our sixteenth president who died just five days after saving the union of the United States after four years of a bloody Civil War. *****

Watching this video,or,more accurately, trying to eye it,has to be one of the worst disappointments I’ve ever encountered on home video. The performances, photography, writing, and direction are absolutely first class. But the manufacturers of the video should be ashamed of themselves for releasing the film in this condition–the soundtrack (at least on this print) has deteriorated horrendously—it has the worst sound of any 1930’s movie I have ever seen.Entire syllables are inaudible; the sound fades in and out like a poor shortwave radio connection. The poor quality of the sound has to be heard to be believed, and what’s even worse, the music track seems relatively unaffected-only the dialogue suffers. The box proudly proclaims that the subtitles in this French film have been digitally improved. One wonders why they didn’t pay more attention to the sound. I hope that there are better prints of this 1936 “Mayerling” ( long unseen on television-especially since the 1968 English-language remake) unruffled around. If not,and if that is one of the reasons it hasn’t turned up on TV,then it is one of the astronomical tragedies of film preservation.

Mayerling doesn’t deserve this treatment. Boyer (who I’m not a vast fan of) is in his element as the domineering, passionate prince. Darrieux is radiant as his lover. And the director Litvak does a pleasing creative job of placing the camera fair so, whether at an intimate beergarden or the royal opera. But…the transfer to this VHS tape is abominable. Long sections are out of focus, the whole film is muddy and scratched, and half of the subtitles are below the mask. A substantial film, but please do not recall the dejected copy offered here.

I remember first seeing ” I Spit on Your Grave” twenty plus years ago when I was fifteen or sixteen years stale. The video store should have never allowed me to rent it; this film deserves a stronger rating than R.

Certainly, over the years my memory had embellished the film; nonetheless, it unruffled terrorized me, today.

It is easy to forget that there are actors following a script. The film is evenly paced and unrelenting. Unlike ” The Last House on the Left,” there is no silly relief to remind the viewer that there is a director. One is forced to confront the brutality of rape and violence.

Buy,Download, Or Stream I Spit On Your Grave! Click Here

The actress is quite convincing and deserves recognition. The rape scenes are borderline snuff quality except for the fact the editing and directing have moments of brilliance. The men are sickening and easily hated; they are unprejudiced vicious animals without any redeeming qualities, yet they are believable. Let us not forget, there are men who commit these attrocities. One can devour why she seeks revenge.

Without expect, the rape scenes are some of the most disturbing moments in cinematic history. The castration scene is unparalleled. The special effects are unbiased that, effective.

The DVD is an righteous package. ” I Spit on Your Grave” isn’t presented as a uncouth budget film. It is art; it’s not a slasher flick; it’s not meant for entertainment.

Buyer beware…

When movies first came out on video there were two legendary exploitation films I had to track down. One was “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and the other was “I Spit on Your Grave,” which is actually the more memorable film of the pair overall (although I do grant the highest set to the “hook” scene in TCM) . Director Meir Zarchi’s 1978 film has become rather injurious, since critics hated it, audiences were outraged, and the film was banned in Germany and Astronomical Britain. The chronicle, such as it is, finds Jennifer Hill (Camille Keaton, Buster’s grand-niece) out in the woods of Connecticut to work on a new when she crosses the path of some local boys who determine she should be the first sexual partner for their mentally-disabled friend. When he cannot complete the rape, his friends do it for him. Then they choose that they are not done with Jennifer.

Buy,Download, Or Stream I Spit On Your Grave! Click Here

At snarl are not Jennifer’s specific acts of revenge, including the unpleasant bathroom scene, but rather the series of brutal rapes that precede them. I do not want to meet anyone who is not worried by these rape scenes and I mediate it is fairly sure that Zarchi intended to get audiences downhearted. In retrospect you have to wonder about all those movies with rape scenes that do NOT upset the audience (the new definite exception that proves the rule would be what happens in “Monster” apt before the first execute) . But Zarchi certainly pours it on thick, absolutely assuring that things go beyond the tolerance level of anyone who watches this film. So the bottom line is that this film will upset you and it is therefore effective at doing exactly what it wants to do. I have always considered this an “X” rated movie although I would not mediate it pornographic in the broken-down sense. But it is a very disturbing film and I do not believe I would want my kids to study it until after they graduate college (if ever) . Anyone renting this film for cheap thrills is in for a shock.

As I now understand it, this 1978 film was originally released as “Day of the Woman,” but that rather innocuous title was replaced by the well known “I Spit on Your Grave,” although the film was also screened as “I Loathe Your Guts” and “The Rape and Revenge of Jennifer Hill.” All of this is challenging since it seems the producers were trying to pass off this film with both higher and lover levels of pretention. The cult set here is more for the shock value than any cheap artistic pretentions, that is for positive.

The uncomplicated devotion of the people to their religion and customs is as dazzling as the scenery.

The local reviewer had made “Unmistaken Child” sound like an spend in comparative religion and anthropology, a bit daunting and probably opaque to the non-initiated. I had read some Tibetan Buddhism decades ago, and of course read or notice the news about the continuing saga of the Dalai Lama and his following, so I decided to go anyway and was very pleasantly surprised. Instead of a hard slog, the film immediately grabbed me and I soon felt like I was scrambling through the Himalayan rocks with the disciple Tenzin Zopa. It didn’t pain that Tenzin was a charming and shyly charismatic young man with obedient English. While this film will purchase you very far away from Novel York or Oshkosh, it is a safe trekking guide and if you are the sort who has any interest in seeing it to inaugurate with you should gather it a joy to witness.

The legend in brief: Tenzin had been the disciple of the famous Geshe Lama Konchog for 21 years, beginning at age 7, when the Lama died at age 84, in 2001. After a period of mourning, it is obvious that Tenzin must search for the reincarnation of Geshe-la so that the child may be given the chance to become a monk. The quest begins with a round of consultations, even leading down into India and the Tibetan exile community, dream interpretations and an astrological consultation … via video from Taiwan! The inequity of the jetsetting lifestyle (favorite with aplomb) with Tenzin’s more natural life in the mountains, is both instructive and the source of some gentle humor. Once Tenzin has narrowed the search down to a particular valley, and gotten instruction on what to inspect for, he takes off on foot, seeking for the reincarnated master, who would now be nearing 2 years ragged. Some parents advocate for their children, but he must be careful to resolve the “unmistaken child.” The simplest tests involve, for instance, showing the child several objects and seeing if he is attracted to the one that actually belonged to Lama Konchog. He finally does secure “the one,” a joyful and outgoing child and we then follow Tenzin and the boy.

Throughout there is distinguished comely scenery, insights into the lives of people in isolated Himalayan communities, and the pageantry and rituals of Tibetan Buddhism. To anyone fascinated with this location, this will be instructive peer candy.

As to reincarnation? The film is hardly didactic on this command. I judge you will steal from it what you bring. If you are a believer (as one reviewer of the theater release seemed to be), you may glance it as evidence confirming that view, but if a skeptic you are unlikely to be convinced. But, as the director says in the press kit available on line, that is really beside the point. It is Tenzin’s idea and how he acts upon it that is well-known.

By the contrivance, do gape up the official website and the press kit, which has a long and moving description of the process of filming. I hope some of that makes it onto the DVD.
